In the land of Malbec, this boutique winery in the breathtaking Uco Valley, is bravely leading the GSM movement in Argentina. Walking their 17 acre estate vineyard and seeing the rocky and alluvial soils in which it’s planted, it became clear why Bodega Corazón del Sol and it’s owner Dr. Revana are so keen in making world class GSM wines from this property. Dr. Revana is no stranger to the wine world as he is also the owner of Revana Family Vineyard in Napa and of Alexana Winery in Oregon’s Willamette Valley.
The hospitality at Bodega Corazón del Sol is second to none and from the beginning to the end of our visit we totally felt at home. Their wines are unique and complex. They are hard to find outside of the winery so if you find one make sure to give it a try, it won’t disappoint.
Besides pioneering the GSM movement they are also making some amazing Malbec and Bordeaux Blends. To give you an idea of how focused they are about making noteworthy world class wines, only 15 cases of their Gran Reserva Malbec and 12 cases of their Luminoso G.S.M. Blend were available for sale when we published this blog.
If you are visiting the Uco Valley, make sure to include this forward thinking winery to your itinerary. Walking the vineyard and touring the winery will give you a true sense of the exciting things happening in the Uco Valley. Also, and speaking from experience, make sure to you give yourself plenty of time to visit as you most likely are not going to want to leave.
Thanks to Cristina for an amazing visit. We hope to visit again soon!
