La Tierra del Sol y el Buen Vino

In a couple of days, we are heading to Mendoza, Argentina (aka La Tierra del Sol y el Buen Vino) and we can’t wait. A long time bucket list destination, Mendoza is considered one of the Wine Capitals of the World and the Wine Capital of South America. Known for it’s juicy, fruit forward Malbecs, Mendoza is at it’s prime during this time of the year as harvest preparations have begun. With the National Harvest Festival (Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia) set to start on Monday, February 25, we are looking forward to experincing this exciting region during it’s glory days.

With a week’s time to enjoy the region, we are spending 2 days in Mendoza City, 2 days in Lujan de Cuyo and 2 days in Valle de Uco. As you can imagine, we have quite a few wine tastings lined up but one thing that has us super excited is a horseback riding excursion along the Andes Mountains culminating with an Argentinian asado (bbq). Shopping and dining adventures are for sure on the agenda as well.

At the moment we have tastings lined up at Bodega Familia Cassone, Bodega Ave Maria Purisima, Bodega Piattelli, Bodega Lagarde, Bodega Domaine Bousquet, Bodega Corazon del Sol, Bodega Monteviejo, Bodega Gimenez Riili and Finca Vinorum. We might try to squeeze in two more, so stay tuned. Also, if you have any suggestions make sure to email them to us at info@winedestinations.co.

During this trip we will be fortunate to enjoy the hospitality of the InterContinental Mendoza, Hotel Casa Petrini and Hotel Lares de Chacras. So looking forward to telling you all about these awesome hotels during our trip and when we get back. We are also super excited to have the opportunity to catch up with our friends and partners of Uncorking Argentina. We are designing some amazing experiences of Argentina’s wine country with them and can’t wait to share them with you!

Make sure to checkout our social media channels come Monday and travel to Mendoza with us! Salud! ☀️🍷
