With the New Year upon us we are excited to announce the 2018 Wine Destinations Wine of the Year. During 2018 we once again had the opportunity to visit one of our favorite wine destinations, the beautiful Sonoma County. This time around we were fortunate to visit the historic Hanzell Vineyards. Nestled at the toe of the Mayacamas Mountains, this family farm is home to the oldest Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines in the Western Hemisphere.

Top 10 Wine Experiences of the Year
With the year coming to an end, we thought we would share with you our Top 10 Wine Experiences of 2018. This year took us to Napa, Sonoma, Michigan’s Leelanau Península, Charleston, South Carolina, Puerto Rico and the wine trails of Indiana. It has been an incredible year and we have tasted some amazing wines. It was hard to narrow it down to ten because of the genuine hospitality we received at each place we visited. Thanks to everyone that welcomed us with open arms in 2018, we certainly hope to see you again.

Quixote Winery
If you love color, architecture, wine, Petite Syrah and Don Quixote this is the place for you! We had long been curious about this winery as we are fans of all these things. Like any of Don Quixote's adventures, we did not know what to expect on our visit but we are happy to tell you that the adventure turned out to be a fascinating one.

The Leelanau Peninsula
After much research on Michigan’s different AVA’s, we finally decided this fall that it was time to visit the Leelanau Peninsula. What ultimately made us commit to the trip was the article by the USA Today naming the Leelanau Peninsula AVA the 3rd best wine region to visit in the USA. After visiting, we can see why the USA Today is so excited about what’s happening in this up and coming wine destination.
